Postgraduate Studies

I have to admit that when i read the instructions of what we have to do in this post, I went blank. I honestly didn't know what to do becaus i haven't thougth in a postgraduate course yet. I was just thinking about finishing my program.

And I started looking for information about this. I found different pages from other countries that recommend these courses, but none of them caught my attention. I trie to look for one that was related with dance and the health of the body. But long time ago I was considering study kinesiology after this program and focus this area on the care of dancers. Maybe later I'll find some postgraduate course with those characteristics, but i'm going to focus on this to write here.

I want to study that program or something related with that because intrigues me so much. I really want to know more about how the body internally works. With my experience there are few people specialized on a dancers body. It works differently than an athlete. But well, I tried to do something. I prefer to study in Chile or travel to a country that speaks spanish because I think that health's area is difficult to understant in another language. And a subject that I would like to study is "Neuroscience". I would like to know how the brain works on the body. And finally I would like to have this course on site. but with this stiuation I prefer the online system for theorical subject and on site for practical things.

We don't know what will happen in the future, so as I said at the beginning, I want to finish my program first.

My future job

Most of the time I wonder if I'll be able to work on what I want or how I'm gonna start. Do I really need a point of my life to know if that's the time to start working on what I want? Because I've worked in other things, but that's not the same.

The job that I would like to have is giving dance classes. I think maybe I'd teach in small groups on my city. Expand this kind of classes from small places to big ones it's a goal that needs to be achieved. I'd love if people understand that movement classes are for themselves, for their body, for their healthy and you don't have to be ashamed about what other people think, do it for yourself. I think that's the message that i would share. After that, I would like to study abroad and try to look for a job in a dance company to increase my knowledge and bring it to my city to share. Because when I saw someone giving classes of things that someone few know it makes me very happy. It makes me think that there is people trying to expand the dance knowledge.

Maybe the salary isn't good in Chile for arts in general, but I have to create contacts and networks. Arts are collective. So we have to support each other. It wil depend directly on what i do.

But first of all i have to finish my program after all the dreams that i said before. I'm still thinking about what major I would like to take. There are 2 ooptions. Pedagogy and interpretation. I like both. For now I'm thinking in taking the first one because it isn't easy to teach. But if you have motivation to learn and share, and you as a student see that in your teacher, you know that it's a good one.

What are you really into?

I was thinking that all my days were like a routine, because sometimes it makes me feel better. But sometimes that routine makes me feel bored too. So I tried to experiment different things around my house (it didn't work)

I've enjoyed cooking vegan recipies, but more than cooking, knowing the nutritional intake of the food. How can I eat it and how all the ingredients helps to me to make me feel stronger. Because you can be vegan but that doesn't mean that all the food is healthy. You have to educate yourself as much as you can and you'll realize that it's easier than you thought. There are things that all the people should know about food, where it comes from, how it is produced, what are all the things that appears on the labels, how to read the nutritional table and why it's better use natural things buying to local workers if you can or using the food that you can find in your home or just cook and grow your own vegetables and fruits.

How you feed is very important on how you live and how you are conscious of what it is around you. Only your actions will change things. Choosing your food is political.

The most embarrassing thing i'm willing to admit

Thinking about something that happened to me was really difficul. In this moment I don't remember too much things.
But there's a thing that I always remember i don't know why, I think that it isn't so embarrassing enough.

We all pass for the phase when we were little and have a kind of love in the shool, right? I was 6 years old and i liked a guy, only because he called the attention of the class doing stupid things (now I realize that clearly it wasn't love). So, I always look at him and my face was like.. dumb? Almost drooling, as you can see in the movies. Well, one day in the class while the teacher was talking, i was sending imaginary kisses to him. I'll describe the action. Me, putting my hands on my lips, giving a kiss and then I kept them away from me and pointing to him (as if he were received them), crazy girl. The teacher ask me what I was doing and then i realised that my head was in the world of love haha. I didn't know what to do so I didn't say a thing. I just blushed and felt the worst.

Luckily, I don't think that he ever knew that I was in love with him, poor little girl of me. The other day I saw him because is my neighbor. We said hello, and follow our paths. This is not a love story.

My best concert

I think that one of my favorite hobbie is going to concerts and the best one was in November 2015. We saw Pearl Jam in the National stadium. I said "we" because I went with my mom from Concepcion to Santiago. She wanted to see them too.

They play alternative rock music. The Eddie Vedder's voice is wonderful and the guitar solos are the best part. We enjoyed it so much in spite of we've bought the cheapest place because it was full of people around us jumping, singing and screaming, everyone in the same tune. There was a moment where the singer drank wine and said to all of us in spanish "El vino está para chuparse los bigotes, un manjar" (maybe he was drunk). The euphoria was huge. I'll never forget that.

It felt so good. being in another country, like an adventure. Trying to get to the stadium without knowing anything it's exhausting, though, but it really woth it. It sounded good.

I had a nice moment with my mom singing together and even we were far away the music felt close.

A country I would like to visit

I think is like a dream but I would like to go to Norway or nordic countries, because I've seen a lot of videos and images from there and the nature it seems really beautiful. Also I saw a tv serie that it's from Norway and I fell in love with the language. I know some basic words of it but I don't know much of the country. I just love how they speak and the landscapes that I saw online.

So that's what I would like to do there, learn the language and visit different places, like the fjords (in the picture you can see the Geiranger fjord).  I even think that I would work or live there if life allows me. I always think that I don't want to stay in Chile because of the vision of the arts, but sometimes I prefer to stay here to give the importance that deserve. Sadly, thinking in the future now it isn't a priority for me, so i just let the idea as a good idea for someday. You'll never know.

SOME REFLECTIONS

I have to say that this year has gone so bad haha. Just think about think in this moment it's nothing. But I forgot that this year in january and february we were in a "normal" situation with real holidays.

So some of the good things that have happened to me is traveling trough some parts of the south of Chile, one week with my family and after that backpacking two weeks with a friend. It's a nice memory.

But a lot of other things that have happened, well, they haven't been so well. I was living in Santiago and  i couldn't work anymore so, I have to come back to my original city and it was weird start again because I had gotten used to being alone. Another bad thing is the university, can you imagine dance classes online? It's really difficult and talk about that it makes me sad and nostalgic.

Thinking about my achievements, i don't know, I laughed but then I thought in myself. My emotions have envolved and I allowed myself to speak more or think more in me, my body, my diet. I've learned to take care of me. Also I have strengthened my body with exercises, but mainly the first things that i said are constant achievements.

Finally, this year it's a roller coaster but the most extreme. No one knows how to handle it and no one understand how others tries to hadle it.

YOUR FAVORITE BOOK

Well, looking in the books that I have in pdf, I realise that I don't have a favorite author, I have three; Jane Austen, Virginia Wolf and Stephen King.

I have to say that I love horror books but I hate horror movies, it's a weird thing but I prefer imagine things by myself than imagine by anything else. I also like romantic books but with old context, they're more interesting and questionable. I like feminism, gender and social books as well, and a lot of other kind of books.

"Jane Eyre" is my favorite book, I read it when i was finishing school and it open my mind in a beautiful way. It was written by Charlotte Brontë but in her time she has to use a man's name to publish, stupid thing, no?. I hope you could read it sometime if you want to know the life of an orphan girl and her good and bad adventures. An opposite book that I like is "The Shining" by Stephen King, it has a really good horror story. I love it.

The last book that I read was "King Kong theory" by Virginie Despentes. I totally recommend it. It's about feminism from the experience of actions that still normalize on this years that some people can't see or just not allowed to see for themselves.

Lately I haven't read a lot, because I wanna think to outside and when I read my thoughts go inside of me and mostly stay in my mind. Sometimes i like it, sometimes I don't. But if you want to read some of the books that I told you, good!.

A SUBJECT YOU'VE ENJOYED STUDYING THIS SEMESTER

I haven't had a lot of subjects this semester, so it's weird. But one of the subjects that i like most is Anatomy.

Now that I was thinking on the way that we have the classes, it's not common but according to the context, strangely it is. We join with a link to Zoom, and the class start. The teacher speaks while we're watching a power point, So we listen the things that he says and if we have a question we can open the microphone and ask him.

First we saw the general things of the limbs (could be from the upper or lower body, it depends of the class) and then we focus on the osteology (bones), arthrology (joints) and myology (muscles). Also we analyse the movements depending of the part of the body that we are studying, how it moves, from where and with what. It's a deep content.

And that's why I like this subject because we focus on all the movements and parts of the body. Besides with that information we discover the possibilities of how we can move the body from inside to outside, not only from a superficial action. It is a very important thing and really interesting too.

Video II. A job I would like to do in the future.

Here's the video. I tried to do my best.  https://youtu.be/14PcGddZDJ8 ❆
